The pros have coaches to watch and critique them, why shouldn't you? Most snowboard and ski resorts offer package lift ticket and lesson deals. Take advantage of them.

They will be able to talk to you, assess your goals, level, height, weight, and other important aspects of your boarding better than a book, the internet, or a how-to snowboarding video.
